Here is a better kernel postinst script which I've tested and it
works.

I've also put the same in the installer (slightly trickier because
busybox sh is more restrictive!) and got that to deploy both
extract-vmlinux and the kernel postinst into the new VM.

So it's almost ready, just tidying up a few other bits now.
