The only thing that springs to mind was for 32-bit Ubuntu 18.04:

    https://lists.bitfolk.com/lurker/message/20180826.180556.8281ffb9.en.html

This was fixed in the 4.15.0-38.41 version of the
linux-image-generic package:

    https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1789118

Last time I checked, the netboot installer at:

    http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/bionic/main/installer-i386/current/images/netboot/xen/vmlinuz

was still broken, but I don't know where to report that bug. That
means that you can't currently install 32-bit Ubuntu 18.04 from
scratch, but you should be able to update to it.

Was that what you were thinking of?

Cheers,
Andy
