That should have read stretch-backports of course.

Another workaround, with the current stable (stretch) kernel, is to
boot with pti=off kernel command line parameter.

64-bit PV guests have their PTI protection in the hypervisor anyway,
so the KPTI stuff in the kernel is not being used. It is there where
this bug lies, and pti=off avoids it.
