I find remote logging quite frustrating.
The best interface I found for it was php-syslog-ng - and now that has been
deprecate in place of logzilla - which is a java blob.
The good news is that php-syslog-ng can put the logs into a MySQL database,
then it's simple enough to create a very basic PHP+MySQL interface to view
the data that I need.
It's really not slick though, so would welcome other people's approaches.
